Sweet Spirit

Initiated by brand transformation consultancy,  Born Ugly, this brief challenged us to unearth a long forgotten product or past-time and make it relevant for the modern day.

For this particular project I worked in collaboration with fellow student Prachi Dhimmar. Together we created a sophisticated vegan drinks brand that revives forgotten sweets into a range of new and exciting gins, allowing the consumer to reminisce about nostalgic memories.

The brand Sweet Spirit uses repeat pattern inspired by 70s retro design and the shape of confectionary to create a design that feels fun and energised. Paired with minimal type and white panelling this offers a sense of sophistication, showcasing a product that would be recognised for its quality instead of another gimmick item.

Illustrations depict a pop-up for stores such as M&S. Potential customers can sample the different flavours, taste the sweets that inspired the range and also purchase a bottle of the spirit for themselves.

The Gin flavours from left to right are Jelly Baby, Pear Drops, Flying Saucers and Turkish Delight.

The reverse of the bottle's packaging is clearly branded with the vegan trademark. With a growing increase in Veganism we saw this as an opportunity to make our design relevant to the modern day.
